Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to what patients and families usually ask before reaching out — cost, visas, travel, and how the process works.

Cost & Payment

How much does treatment in India cost for a patient from Africa or the Middle East?

Costs vary by procedure, hospital, and complexity, but treatment in India is typically 60–80% less than equivalent care in the US, UK, or Gulf. We share a written, itemised estimate once your medical reports are reviewed. Every figure is estimated and confirmed by the treating hospital before you travel, since final cost depends on the physician's evaluation.

Is the cost estimate final, or can it change?

The initial estimate is based on your reports and the standard scope of the procedure. It can change if the physician's evaluation on arrival reveals additional complexity. Hospitals will always inform you before proceeding with anything outside the original estimate.

How do I pay for treatment — can I pay from my home country?

Most partner hospitals accept international wire transfer, card payment, and in some cases local currency exchange on arrival. Your coordinator will confirm accepted payment methods for your specific hospital before you travel.

Choosing a Hospital & Sharing Records

What medical reports do I need to send for a free opinion?

Recent diagnostic reports, imaging such as X-ray, CT, or MRI relevant to your condition, and a summary of any treatment already received. Our coordinators confirm exactly what's needed once you share your condition.

How do I compare hospitals in India for my condition?

We share hospital options with relevant accreditation (such as NABH), specialist experience, and estimated cost for your specific case, so you can compare before committing. We do not push a single hospital — the choice is yours.

What should I ask before sending my medical records to a facilitator?

Ask how your data will be used and stored, whether there is any cost for a review, which hospital or doctor will actually review your case, and whether the facilitator provides medical advice themselves — we do not; we coordinate access to licensed physicians who do.

Travel & Visa

How long does it take to arrange treatment in India?

A medical opinion is usually shared within 48 hours of receiving your reports. Once you decide to proceed, medical visa and travel arrangements typically take 1–2 weeks, depending on your country's embassy processing time and the hospital's scheduling.

What type of visa do I need, and how do I apply?

India issues a dedicated Medical Visa (and Medical Attendant Visa for companions) for treatment purposes. We provide the hospital invitation letter and documentation needed for your application, though the visa itself is applied for through the Indian embassy or consulate in your country.

Can a family member travel with the patient?

Yes, most patients travel with at least one companion. We help arrange Medical Attendant Visas and accommodation for attendants alongside the patient.

Who picks us up at the airport and arranges accommodation?

Our coordinators arrange airport pickup and help book accommodation near the treating hospital, ranging from guesthouses to hotels depending on your budget and length of stay.

During & After Treatment

What is included in a medical travel estimate?

A typical estimate covers hospital and procedure costs and estimated length of stay, plus guidance on accommodation and local transport. It does not include international flights or personal expenses. All figures are estimated and confirmed by the treating hospital.

Can treatment be planned around multiple visits, or does it require one long stay?

It depends on the treatment protocol. Some patients complete a single phase, such as surgery, and continue follow-up care locally, while others prefer to complete a full protocol in India. We help plan this around your specific diagnosis and the treating physician's recommendation.

Who makes the final decision on my treatment plan?

VezoraCare coordinates access, logistics, and communication — we do not provide medical advice ourselves. All diagnoses, treatment plans, and clinical decisions are made by licensed physicians at the treating hospital in India.

Does VezoraCare guarantee treatment outcomes?

No. Treatment outcomes depend on the individual case and are determined by the treating physicians, not by VezoraCare. We do not make outcome guarantees or promises of specific results for any procedure.

What happens if I need follow-up care after returning home?

Your treating hospital will provide discharge summaries and follow-up instructions. Our coordinators remain a point of contact to help arrange further consultations, whether that means returning to India or connecting your local doctor with the treating hospital.

Is my medical information kept confidential?

Yes. Reports and personal information you share are used only to coordinate your medical opinion and treatment, and are shared only with the relevant hospital and specialists reviewing your case.
